Let the games begin!

Dearest Malakai,

I haven't written you for so long my angel! I have been so busy and computer problems have been driving me round the bend...

But here I am now!

Well! You are just doing so well! We went for our follow-up-assessment at the Baby Therapy Center on Monday and all three therapists (speech, physical and occupational) tell us that you are still on track for all your milestones.

"On track mom?" Well yes my angel - it just means that you are not falling behind with any of your milestones at this point.

Today we started your Occupational Therapy (OT) and it was such fun!

"Why did I have to start that if I am on track mommy?" I'm glad you asked baby! Because we want to make sure that you stay on track for as long as possible. To do this, we need to start OT now - but OT is a really long word for 'playing games'! We let you spend time on your tummy, getting to know the difference between your head, arms and back... We also play a fun game hitting a beach ball and then letting you push up on a pillow. I must say that I can already see an improvement in your sitting! Well done my boy! You just take all these new movements and games in your stride, smiling and playing along!

I am truly blessed to have you as my son - a more content little monkey would be hard to find! That's not to say that you don't get grumpy sometimes - which you do and you sure let me know! But your grumpyness is never without a good reason, and I am often left apologising to you for whatever silly thing I was doing that made you grumpy in the first place!

I will take pictures of your OT-Games soon and post them for everyone to see!

I am so happy to have you in my life - you are so amazing and my love for you could not be more humbling and awesome and amazing and awe-inspiring!

You and your dad continue to be my pathway, my light and my soft place to fall. Thank you.

You are all my Reasons for Being.
Love,
Mom

Look Mom! I'm a big boy!

You are the most beautiful boy!

Check me out in my cowboy outfit!

Dearest Malakai,

Today, as we start your 4th month of life I decided that we were going to dress you in some Big Boy clothes! Well! I am sure you are the cutest boy on earth! I just loved your outfit so much! But outfit or no outfit, you had a poo on board that wasn't caring for any Big-Boy-Fashion-Statement... my word! What a poo!

Anyway - I wanted to share the pictures of your first real Big Boy Outfit with everyone that loves you. I am sure they will agree you looked gorgeous!

You are still growing and developing every day! You now have massive conversations with me, making all sorts of sounds! You smile all the time (just not for my camera...) and you are holding you head nicely when I sit you on my lap!

We have also welcomed Joyce into our home. She will be loving you and playing with you when mommy goes back to work in December. I am trying not to think that far... I am just enjoying the time we have right now. Joyce is a wonderful lady who has a good heart and I am sure she will be your great friend! This makes mommy feel a little bit better about going back to work.

I hope everyone enjoys the pictures!

My First Swim

Dearest Malakai,

You had your first swim this weekend! We did it very slowly at first, and although you weren't smiling your way through it, you didn't scream either... so... I think you may still start enjoying the water more and more!

Here are pictures from your swim at Aunty Leigh and Uncle Kim's house!

You are all my Reasons for Being,
